Watching a barn owl hunt in daylight is such an amazing sight! This barn owl was out early before darkness descended, hunting above the marsh during Winterwatch at Wild Ken Hill, its bright white feathers and distinctive heart shaped face clearly visible as the light faded and it searched for mice and voles. This barn owl was methodically flying back and forth over the area of marsh searching for prey which is called ‘quartering’. Such incredible birds. Have you ever seen a barn owl? Let us know
