The 1st Battalion,The Royal Welsh have commemorated the 140th Anniversary of the Battle of Rorke's Drift at their barracks in Tidworth. The soldiers marked the occasion of one of the most famous battles in their history which saw their antecedent Regiment the 24th of Foot awarded the largest number of Victoria Crosses to a single unit in any one action. H.M. Dronningen aflagde igår besøg hos 1. bataljon ved The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment i den tyske by Paderborn. Dronningen blev i 1972 Allied Colonel-in-Chief (æresoberst) for The Queen's Regiment, senere Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, og i 1997 overtog Hendes Majestæt hvervet som Colonel-in-Chief i The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.
