We are currently making spillway releases from Norfork Dam due to ongoing power plant maintenance work and to pass last night's rainfall. The total combined release will be around 3,000 cubic feet per second. You can obtain release information via our smart phone app or the water control page of our website. 🦩 Spotted one of Norfork Lake’s “grumpy old men” this morning—a great blue heron! These birds crack me up. They’ll stand as still as a statue on the shoreline, giving you the side-eye, like “don’t mind me, just waiting on my breakfast.” Then, BAM—lightning strike and the fish doesn’t stand a chance. With a 6-foot wingspan, when they take off it looks like a prehistoric pterodactyl skimming across the water. I think they’re one of the coolest (and funniest) birds on Norfork Lake. #NorforkLake #B
