We now have 3 simultaneous active hurricanes in the Atlantic for the first time since 2010. Category 5 #Irma, Category 1 #Jose, and Category 1 #Katia. Category 5 Hurricane Irma has had maximum sustained winds of 185mph for nearly 36 hours, which makes it the only hurricane in recorded history within the Atlantic or the Eastern Pacific to maintain that caliber of catastrophic intensity for such of a long duration.
