As of October 1, 2024, in conjunction with the NWS Hazard Simplification initiative, all wind chill and freeze products will be consolidated and changed nationwide. Extreme Cold Watch and Wind Chill Watch will be consolidated into Extreme Cold Watch .

Oct 1, 2024 · An Extreme Cold Warning would be issue when Temperatures OR Wind Chills are expected to fall below 10 degrees F. A Freeze Warning will only be issued for the first two freezes of the season, or after an unseasonably warm spell.
