Nov 9, 2020 · I think I'll watch DiC and Cloverway first for nostalgia and continuity sense in leaving off from DiC for season one. But I definitely want ro rewatch through the Viz dubs afterwards. Who knows, maybe I'll even switch after Sailor Moon R because I think the Cloverway dub voice acting is going to irritate the hell out of me.

Jun 28, 2022 · My friends and I are big fans of the "so bad it's good" kind of vibe. They've seen clips of the DiC dub before and had a blast laughing at it. (Of course the 90s dub IS still a version of Sailor Moon, so there are other aspects to enjoy as well) To most of us, more "traditional" anime like the Viz dub just doesn't have that much appeal.

Sailor Moon Says was a great addition and the show itself was entertaining and funny. I just started watching the new dub with my nephew and it's sailor moon, it's great, but it honestly feels a little like a different show. Both are good, one is just entertaining and the other is actual quality. Also every song from the original dub is a bop.

Sailor Moon has been my autistic special interest since I was around 4 or 5 and the DiC dub was what was available for me to watch, so my core experience with the series is through that dub. It’s also very nostalgic to go back and watch, even if some of the translation is weird or cheesy.
Which is better? The Dic English dub or the Viz English dub?
Even if some of the voices are very different than the DiC dub, I do think they matched well comparing with the JP voices and personality. I also like the translations and references they added. For example, in an early episode when Umino (melvin for the DiC dub) and Naru (Molly) were entering a contest and Umino/Melvin was dressing as a girl.
