Jun 23, 2023 · Since we’re updating our code plug, I’m looking for the Smart PTT/Busy Channel Lock Out setting that you can find on Motorola radios. Does anyone know if this setting exist on the programming software?

Jan 31, 2021 · It's essentially a smart time-out-timer that will de-key the radio if it doesn't detect any voice after 5 seconds. You can adjust the default Voice Absence Timer by enabling Expert view in CPS, then changing the value in Radio Wide > Features.

Dec 4, 2015 · Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it. For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios.

Confused about "Smart PTT" busy channel lockout
Jul 22, 2008 · I'm experimenting with some of the features on an HT1000, and I see one of them is Smart PTT busy channel lockout. Here is the question, if I activate Smart PTT on my radio, will it make those 3 beeps that sound similar to a Nextel when I key up the radio? Or is that the transmit inhibit tone?
