Feb 22, 2018 · So the bus is coordinated with the train's arrival. The bus gets you to the base of the castle hill, where there is a regular shuttle to the top, at 11:48. There is another train/bus connection leaving Stuttgart at 12:15, getting to the castle hill at 13:48. Unless you come back on the 18:35 bus, that's a little late to start at the castle.

You both right, the House of Hohenzollern took its name from Hohenzollern Castle which took its name from Mount Hohenzollern, the hill the castle is built on, but this castle in the picture is the third one built on this hill by that name. It is a family memorial, built in the 1800's long after the family had gained prominence.

I'm thinking of flying in to Frankfurt and spending first night in Cochem followed by the second night in Heidelberg before heading down to Baden-Baden. Mar 26, 2017 · I'm sure the OP wants to see Burg Hohenzollern, since they said "Bisingen". Actually, Bisingen is around the other side of the "mountain" from the entrance to Burg Hohenzollern. The road to the castle, K7110, intersects Hwy 27 just on the edge of Hechingen.
Visiting Lichtenstein,Hohenzollern, & Sigmaringen Castles w/o a car
Sep 26, 2019 · From there you can easily get to Hechingen (near Hohenzollern castle) and to Sigmaringen by train. It is nearly impossible to reach Lichtenstein Palace (in German Schloss Lichtenstein, not Burg Lichtenstein) by public transportation. Mind you both Hohenzollern and Lichtenstein can be summarized under the term 'Neuschwanstein syndrome'.
