Jul 27, 2008 · Welcome to CoinTalk, WN. I hate to be the one to tell you but you got ripped off. Gold plating destroys any numismatic value a coin has to a true coin collector. Your coins are basically worth their metal content (for the Mercury dime and Walker half) - around $8.50 at today's spot price of silver - and face value for the other coins.

Jun 3, 2021 · Whatever The Franklin Mint comes up with, whatever they charge for those items, in the after market they are almost worthless. Take the enameled state quarters. They took mint quarters and enameled them. They look very nice but to collectors it’s nothing but damage to the coin. They charged about $10.00 per coin.

Jan 14, 2019 · Gold plated (silver, etc etc) are extremely common and done by probably at least a dozen commercial companies (plus all the "scientific" experiments). They are VERY common. here's 4 of 223 examples of gold plated coinage .. all done by that company to make money off of people for novelty.

Mar 8, 2005 · This is a Gold Plated 1974 Kennedy Half Dollar coin. It comes with an electroplate certificate from the Andrews Collectors Society and has the serial number 34711. It is 24 Kt Gold. I am also tagging it with that 1980 half dollar that highlights coincidences between Lincoln and JFK. Bonus: Whoever buys this gets this miniature coin set.
1974 + Gold? Penny's. States Stamped on Them. Identify? Help?
Jan 5, 2015 · The set of state stamped lincoln cents were most common during the bicentennial , mostly 1976, but a '75 wouldn't surprise me. As they were not made in the mint, basically they are PMD ( post mint damage) , made by companies calling themselves by names similar to Heritage Mint, etc. and asking several times face value.
Eisenhower 1972 Gold Plated Dollar coin
May 27, 2007 · Any assistance you can provide will be very much appreciated. I have a 1972 Eisenhower Gold Plated (I'm assuming not a "real gold coin" ) Dollar coin. I cannot find this in any coin book or online source. It is definately NOT painted on by somebody either bored or playing a joke. It very much appears to be part of the manufacturing process.
1983 Gold Quarter? - Coin Talk
Mar 2, 2018 · I have come across a 1983 quarter that appears to be gold plated or of similar colored metal. Interestingly, "1789" and "1989" are imprinted on either side of Washington. Gold color Susan B Anthony - Coin Talk
Jun 9, 2018 · Sometimes that Susan B can tone that color. If it hasn't been experimented with, it's normal it's worth a dollar. On the 1979 P the rare ones are the "wide rim, near date" The date will be very close to the rim. Photo below. There is no 1980-S Type 2, see chart below. which S it is.
