Apr 14, 2008 · I use royal icing with corn syrup. I liked different things about toba's and royal and came up with my own combo. 2 lbs. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. meringue powder 2 tbsp. corn syrup 1/2 to 1 cup water I love this recipe the best. Yummy!

Nov 28, 2021 · Agreed. The original royal icing recipe was never made with meringue powder. My go-to recipe for a standard amount of royal icing has been: 90g/3oz pasteurized egg whites, 500g/~4 cups icing sugar (sifted), and 30mL/2tablespoons lemon juice. That should cover several dozen standard size cookies. Completely scalable 1:1 as necessary.

Jun 8, 2011 · CK meringue powder would probably be the equivilent to the British Merry Whites or any egg white powder. I use Dr Okter's egg white powder, safer to use than fresh egg whites if serving to the elderly, small kids and preganant women. Makes really good royal icing, strong enough for runouts, flowers and covering.

Yields less volume than royal icing made with meringue powder. Royal icing is a hard drying icing. Please keep covered with a damp cloth. Humidity will greatly effect this icing.

Jun 22, 2007 · I just use 2 pounds powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons meringue powder, and tons of flavoring to get rid of the meringue taste. Add water to desired consistency, beat for 7 minutes. Add more water to get to flooding stage and decorate. I would suggest tasting your royal before beating it for 7 minutes to make sure it has enough flavor.
