I tried playing Metroid Prime on an emulator a couple years ago and it was a surprisingly difficult experience just to get it running correctly, and even then I ended up encountering a game-breaking geometry glitch in the like the second room on the planet.

Jan 31, 2021 · I own the GCN Prime games, the New Play Control Prime 1&2, and Prime 3 but I previously owned the Trilogy and I remember the visuals being different. That said, at this point a Prime 1 remaster seems pretty likely so I think I'll just wait for that and maybe play 2 & 3 via Dolphin after that.

Jan 31, 2021 · Man I cannot get Prime 2 to run without stuttering drastically every time a new room loads. The game runs buttery smooth as hell on cranked settings otherwise but every time I shoot a door and it loads in a new room it stutters big time.

These games are fantastic anyway, but playing it on the gamecube controller is kinda weird these days, for me anyway, and the Wii remote and nunchuck are just smooth, incredibly accurate ways to play these games. enhancing these already incredible games.

It feels like a controller that is designed around motion and aiming simply isn't up to the task of the design provided by Metroid Prime.
