Riving knife for old craftsman tablesaw? - Woodworking Talk
Aug 24, 2022 · The older Craftsman table saws never had a riving knife, only a splitter with the blade guard attached with rivets. I found the blade guard to be a hinderance most of the time so I drilled out the rivets leaving only the splitter plate. It works great to prevent kickbacks and keeps the kerf from closing on "springy" woods.

May 19, 2017 · How much are old saws worth is up to the buyer and seller to agree upon. It just depends if you want an old saw. Lets face it for $600-$700-$800 you can get a lot of saw when buying a new saw and it will/may have many of the modern safety features like a riving knife and a blade guard. A good comparison to make.

Old Craftsman 10" table saw - Woodworking Talk
Feb 4, 2010 · I purchased and old (manual printed April, 1996) 220 volt, 10", cast iron Craftsman table saw at a garage sale. It runs and cuts great but the fence is a piece of crap. The table is 30" wide and the model number is 113.298844. The saw cost $150. I would like to keep the fence cost at or below that if possible.

I'm not sure which particular model that saw is but if it's one of the Craftsman saws that are similar to the Emerson made Ridgid contractors saws then it's a fairly well built saw.
