Feb 1, 2022 · Outside the 8-mile pedestrian hiking trail system in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve lies untouched acreage, land that people have not traveled for decades. Thanks to devoted volunteers and Elachee staff, hikers will soon be able to access and explore the Chicopee Woods’ backcountry.

Like I mentioned above, there are 6 different trails that make up this trail system, with varying degrees of difficulty. Generally speaking, the "inner loop" trails (Flying Squirrel and Copperhead Gap) as well as the Coyote Loop are the more difficult trails.

Dec 22, 2023 · Chicopee Woods Mountain Bike Park offers 21 miles of prime cross country singletrack. It is managed by volunteers from Northeast Georgia SORBA. There is a 2.6 mile beginner friendly trail named The Tortoise Loop. Four intermediate level trails totaling 14 miles include the Red Tail loop, Flying Squirrel, White Tail loop and Coyote trail.
