Jun 16, 2024 · The long slide of the 17L performs better with a solid grip and a little hotter ammo. Winchester 115grn is notoriously weak and inconsistent. The G17L Gen 3 is a well tested gun, at this point, and has a solid track record of reliability. Try different ammo and perhaps have someone else shoot the gun. If the problem persists contact GLOCK.

Noticably lighter (nothing drastic but noticable) than my Glock 22 RTF2 gen3 trigger. Both stock. I find the gen5 guns I shot (17, 19, and 45) to have nicer overall triggers in terms of feel.

Jul 27, 2022 · Looks like the best method is to buy a Gen 3 19 and the 19L slide and barrel. You cannot have a 19L with a 17 frame if you want a true 19L (if there is such a thing). Also with buying the 19 and adding the 19L slide and barrel, you can sell the OEM 19 slide and barrel. In the end, everything is OEM except the 19L slide.

ED198 a 17 LP has a cracked frame, the reissue frame went right on and fires fine.The gen 3 17L slide looks good on it also and I will switch out the mag release. edit Mag release done with new pic and you can see the mould plug for the lanyard hole.

I have to admit it is an appealing gun, but not sure why. Wondering what peoples opinion where of the 17L from shootability to collectability. Cheers!
