The body of fallen Terrell police officer Jacob Candanoza is laying in state on Monday, with visitors making their way to Max Slayton Funeral Home in Terrell to pay their respects to the slain officer.

Candanoza, who was killed in the line of duty, will lie in state on Monday.

Officer Jacob Andrew Candanoza would have made five months on the job Friday, but investigators said he was murdered in a traffic stop late Sunday night.

Candanoza’s funeral will be in the same church where fallen Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson was memorialized just two weeks earlier.

In a Facebook post, the Terrell Police Department said K-9 Officer Max was suffering from an illness and died over the weekend.
