The 14th annual New York Game Awards were held overnight, and awarded Team Asobi ‘s critically acclaimed platformer Astro Bot its Game of the Year gong.

Team Asobi's platformer was nominated for four awards, winning three including Best Kids Game and Best Music in a Game. FromSoftware's Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was also a big winner, picking up accolades for Best World and Best DLC.

Former Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aimé, had high praise for Sony's Astro Bot. At the New York Game Awards, Fils-Aimé said Astro Bot 'almost outdid Nintendo' at making a fun 3D platformer for all ages.
