President Donald Trump held off unveiling China-specific tariffs on his first day in office, instead ordering his administration to address unfair trade practices globally and investigate whether Beijing had complied with a deal signed during his first term.

Vice President Han Zheng, China’s representative at Donald Trump’s inauguration, is a trusted adviser to President Xi Jinping.

Han Zheng is scheduled to attend the celebrations in Washington D.C. on Monday and is the most senior Chinese official to attend a U.S. inauguration.
