After a full three weeks on top of Netflix’s Top 10 movie list, Carry-On has been unseated by a new film. The Taron Egerton/Jason Bateman thriller has become one of Netflix’s most viewed in a short stretch of time, and was a great pick for most ages (teens and up) to watch over the holiday.

I caught the movie over the holidays with my family, and was pleasantly surprised with how fun and thrilling it was. Taron Egerton held up the edge-of-your-seat Christmas movie, Jason Bateman was believably creepy,

Carry-On, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra ( Jungle Cruise) and written by T.J. Fixman, follows a TSA agent (Egerton) who is being blackmailed to allow a bag containing a deadly nerve agent on board a flight. Bateman plays the mercenary orchestrating the scheme.

"Carry-On" has proven to be a major Netflix Original; this Taron Egerton-led Christmas thriller has basically been the streamer's No. 1 watch since it arrived on Dec. 13. The movie sees TSA agent Ethan (Egerton) powering through the shift from hell at LAX on Christmas Eve.

With the holidays firmly in the rearview mirror, the start of the spring movie season still months away, and much of the entertainment industry laser-focused on the Oscar race, January is often a barren time for new film releases.
