Natalie Cochran was found guilty after the jury deliberated for a little less than two hours on Wednesday. Cochran burst into tears when the verdict was read. “The court accepts the jury verdict and finds this defendant guilty of murder in the first degree,” Special Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick said after reading the verdict.

With both sides resting their cases, concluding statements were made before the judge gave the jury a choice whether to deliberate and come to a verdict on Tuesday, or wait until the morning of January 29. The jury chose to wait until Wednesday the 29, and the jury will decide whether or not Natalie Cochran will be convicted of First Degree Murder.

A verdict has been reached in a high-profile case. After deliberating for less than 2 hours a jury in a Raleigh County courtroom found Natalie Cochran guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her husband Michael Cochran.
