A Mega Millions player just missed a $619 million jackpot — but still scored a massive win in Florida. The player bought a ticket that matched all but one number picked in the Dec. 10 drawing. Since the person spent an extra dollar on the Megaplier option, their $1 million prize rose to $5 million, results show.

No one matched all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, pushing the jackpot to a staggering $740 million for Tuesday's drawing. This makes it the eighth-largest jackpot in the lottery's history.

This lottery streak started on Friday the 13th in September and has lasted for another one this year, Dec. 13, 2024. The number 13 is lucky for some.
