First there was the report that General Hospital had parted ways with Kelly Monaco and was killing off Sam after 20 years. Then there was the petition from fans hoping to change the ABC soap’s mind. Now comes word via Soap Opera Digest that the actress is being replaced the week of September 16 by

General Hospital fans were surprised when Lindsay Hartley appeared on the September 16 episode, once again filling in for Kelly Monaco.

It isn’t just General Hospital fans that have been shaken by the news that Kelly Monaco is leaving the soap — and reportedly not by choice. Her co-stars have also been rocked by her imminent exit as Sam (who is said to be getting killed off).

Miller joined General Hospital in 2014, taking over the role of Jason Morgan/Drew Cain from Steve Burton. He played opposite Monaco’s Sam McCall until he exited the show in 2019. The actor passed away on September 15, 2023, following a battle with bipolar disorder. He was 43.
