The Associated Press named Higgins a first-team All-American on Monday. It is his third first-team All-America honor from the preeminent organizations that determine consensus All-America status, following first-team nods last week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Iowa linebacker Jay Higgins has added The Associated Press to his list of first-team All-American honors. Higgins, who had 118 tackles and four interceptions, previously was named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and Walter Camp Foundation.

Iowa State football standout Jayden Higgins was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday. It is the latest accomplishment for the 6-foot-4, 215-pound wide receiver, who also earned All-Big 12 second team and second-team All-American honors by The Athletic.
