Berks Catholic has earned a top seed in the District 3 boys basketball tournament, and two-time defending champion Wyomissing is a third seed in the girls tourney. The Saints (17-4) are the top seed in Class 4A and will open the tournament on Thursday against eighth-seeded Bishop McDevitt (10-10) at 7 p.m. at Berks Catholic.

Three YAIAA girls basketball teams are the top seeds in their respective classes for this year’s District 3 tournament. Division III champion York Catholic (20-3 overall) is the top seed in Class 2A, Division II champion York Suburban (20-2 overall) in Class 5A and Division I co-champ Red Lion (23-1 overall) in Class 6A.

The District 3 playoff brackets are now official for the girls basketball season, as teams across Central Pa. will vie for district gold and PIAA playoff berths. Here’s a look at bracket-by-bracket opening matchups.
