Ahead of the Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2, the company has seemingly dropped a hint about the upcoming Switch 2. The April 2 Direct is expected to include a trove of new information regarding the next-gen console.
Beyond franchises, perhaps the most exciting thing yet to be revealed is the Switch 2’s equivalent of Wii Sports, Nintendo Land, and 1-2-Switch — a game or games that will show what the new system is capable of and what differentiates it from the original Switch.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is set to air on Wednesday, April 2. It’ll kick off at 6 a.m. PT, so fans on the west coast will need to wake up bright and early for it. Nintendo has yet to say just how long it’ll be, but its 2017 Nintendo Switch reveal lasted just over an hour. You can likely expect about the same here.
We'd expect Nintendo's "Switch 2 Edition" games will be broadly similar to the systems set up by Sony and Microsoft in recent years. We'll likely find out for sure when Nintendo reveals many more details about the system in a livestreamed video presentation planned for April 2.
