U.S. Rep. Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, announced that he "will file" articles of impeachment but did not say when.

This is not the first time that Green has come after Trump. According to Newsweek, he unsuccessfully attempted to impeach Trump three times between 2017 and 2019. Newsweek said that Green’s filing so soon after the inauguration makes it one of the fastest impeachment efforts in history.

Donald Trump was previously impeached twice during his first presidency. The first impeachment was handed to him in 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress after he attempted to get help from Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election, and the second arrived in 2021 for inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.
