PUPUKEA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A search is underway after two teens apparently went missing in waters off Oahu’s North Shore. HNN is told the missing individuals are an 18-year-old and 17-year-old girl. Authorities said the pair were reported missing after they failed to return home Friday night.

The National Weather Service had a high surf warning posted since yesterday for north facing shores. Ke Iki also has a reputation for being dangerous, as it claimed two lives earlier this winter. “Ke Iki beach: It’s dangerous, it’s deadly, it’s not a good swimming beach. Go to a beach where we have lifeguards,” Tinneny said.
