Sources say "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin's family drama is all the rage at ABC News after her husband was accused of insurance fraud in a sweeping federal lawsuit.

The Hostins blasted the lawsuit as “baseless” and could seek $5 million in damages in a potential countersuit, their lawyer says.

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin responded to the insurance fraud allegations facing her husband on Tuesday, arguing the company who filed the lawsuit had a history of frivolous claims.

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin did not mince words when discussing President Donald Trump ‘s inauguration and his first day in office, which included a bevy of controversial executive order signings.

Dr. Hostin was accused in a Dec. 17, 2024 suit filed by American Transit of getting “kickbacks” for surgeries and fraudulently billing the company, which insures taxi companies, Uber and Lyft drivers, among others. He is one of 200 defendants named in the suit.

"We have put American Transit on notice and will file a five-million-dollar counter lawsuit for their defamatory claims," Hostin said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE

While “DEI” normally stands for “diversity, equity and inclusion,” Hostin said that when applied to Trump, it actually stands for “didn’t earn it.” Pointing to Trump
