The lottery jackpot was an estimated $45 million with a cash option of $21 million for Saturday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot.

A Powerball ticket sold in California won $41,761 but just missed the $48 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, Dec. 14, the California Lottery said.

The New York Lottery announced that the two winning tickets for the Dec. 11 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball. One prize-winning ticket each was sold at Tops Markets, located at 345 Amherst St., in Buffalo, and at Wegmans, located at 7952 Brewerton Rd., in Cicero.
