The Lions continued their recent dominance in the series, improving to 5-0-1 against the Cardinals since 2017.

The end of the second quarter came with some controversy, however, as referees blew a play dead citing the two-minute warning before Lions quarterback Jared Goff was hit and threw a pick-six to Cardinals cornerback Marco Wilson.

TE Sam LaPorta. After a record-breaking rookie season, LaPorta had a career-low 13 yards receiving and two catches to match a career low last week against Tampa Bay. He had the most receptions (86) last season by an NFL rookie.

The Cardinals have not beaten Goff since his rookie season in 2016. In that game, they beat the L.A. Rams 44-6 and sacked Goff seven times. Since then, he is 8-0 with 14 touchdown passes and three interceptions. He has rushed for three touchdowns as well. In those eight games, he has been sacked 11 times.

The Detroit Lions were lucky to come away with a split of two home games against teams they beat in the playoffs last season.
