Police in Cary called in the bomb squad Thursday after someone brought a family member’s potentially explosive device to the police department. Just after 3:30 pm, officers were notified about the presence of the device, according to a news release.

A suspicious car left running outside Bellevue's Crossroads Mall that was the center of an hours-long investigation was finally removed.

On Dec. 9 around 8:30 a.m., bomb squad was called to Bennett Venture Academy for reports of a grenade at the school. TPD says the principal confiscated the grenade from an 8-year-old student, who brought it in for show and tell, and immediately called 911. Bomb squad determined that the grenade was inert and disposed of it properly.
