Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and special agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations with an operation in Colony Ridge Monday morning, Gov. Greg Abbott announced on social media.

The Texas Department of Public Safety made several arrest over the past few weeks, including several who were in the country illegally and wanted for child sexual assault.

A traffic stop by Texas DPS led to a human smuggling bust and the arrest of a man sought for sexual assault in Laredo, Texas. Seven people were detained and referred to Border Patrol.

Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety recently arrested two immigrants in South Texas who they say are fugitives who were both caught on traffic violations.

“Adding Magnum to the Executive Protection Bureau ensures we continue to provide the highest level of security for Texas leaders,” said DPS Colonel Freeman F. Martin. “This highly trained K-9 is an invaluable asset, solidifying both detection and deterrence capabilities in our security operations.”

Israel Arreola Diaz, 35, is wanted out of Winkler Co. for possession or promotion of child pornography. He is considered armed and dangerous. The Kermit Police Department is now offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to his arrest.

WINKLER COUNTY, Texas — A suspect is on the run and wanted for possessing or promoting child pornography in Winkler County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in a news release Friday. DPS and the Kermit Police Department (KPD) are searching for 35-year-old Israel Arreola Diaz who is 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 185 lbs.

TEXAS (KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Public Safety has promoted Brian Dismukes to their Assistant Chief in the Infrastructure Operations Division. According to DPS, Dismukes previously served as the Human Resources Director of the same division.
