Wednesday marked a fascinating day in the NFL ahead of free agency, with the Seattle Seahawks releasing Tyler Lockett and granting wide receiver DK Metcalf permission to seek a trade. But those were not the only moves that made news on the West Coast.
One might think a San Francisco 49ers defensive back would be happy about the idea of Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf leaving the NFC West. However, Deommodore Lenoir was disappointed to hear Metcalf requested a trade out of Seattle.
Tyler Lockett was released by the Seahawks, and DK Metcalf has one foot out the door after requesting a trade. We could be looking at a big season for Jaxon Smith-Njigba in 2025, and he has the potential to be a top-10 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.
The Seattle Seahawks won't trade DK Metcalf just for the sake of placating the veteran wide receiver. One team source told ESPN's Brady Henderson "we will do what's best for the Seahawks" when discussing Metcalf's desire to be dealt.
