WITTMANN, Ariz. — A massive railroad project planned for rural Wittmann has residents fearing for their homes, land, and way of life. Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) wants to build an intermodal hub — a 4,000-acre facility where cargo is transferred between trucks and trains — in Wittmann, a city northwest of central Phoenix.
