Officials in Queens, New York, arrest two individuals for exploiting a backdoor at a StubHub contractor to intercept and re-sell almost 1,000 tickets to popular events.

Ex-employees of a former StubHub vendor allegedly redirected and resold nearly 1,000 concert tickets for Taylor Swift, Adele and Ed Sheeran, among others.

Authorities said two people have been arrested and face grand larceny charges after allegedly helping to steal more than 900 tickets, a majority of which were for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and reselling them online to make more than $600,

The contractors allegedly stole the URLs of tickets purchased on StubHub and emailed them to others in New York, who downloaded and resold them at exorbitant prices.

The duo, who return to court Friday to enter their plea, were charged Feb. 27 with grand larceny, computer tampering and conspiracy. They face sentences of three to 15 years in prison if convicted. The investigation was referred to prosecutors by StubHub, which didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The two face charges in the cybertheft of more than 900 concert and event tickets, including those for Swift's Eras Tour, later resold on StubHub.
