In many ways, New Orleans’ first major night of Carnival parades after the deadly New Year's vehicle attack on Bourbon Street looked the same as any other. Kids played football on the streetcar tracks; vendors hawked corn dogs and lemonade and Professor Longhair blasted from sound systems.
