After 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, Brittney Griner left in free agency to join the Atlanta Dream. New teammate Allisha Gray reacted to the news of Griner's decision which comes on the heels of Mercury's acquisition of Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun.

WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner is leaving the Phoenix Mercury after an 11-year career and intends to sign with the Atlanta Dream.

The WNBA landscape was shaken up Tuesday. First, the Phoenix Mercury traded for Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas. Then, longtime Mercury star center Brittney Griner decided to leave Phoenix after 11 seasons to join the Atlanta Dream.

Griner is the latest big name to move during the WNBA’s offseason, as she’ll leave the Mercury and head to Atlanta.

Week 2 of Unrivaled women’s basketball begins Friday with a doubleheader. The Phantom and Mist play in the opener, while Laces and Vinyl meet after.

Free agent Brionna Jones is signing with the Atlanta Dream, her agent, Boris Lelchitski. The three-time All-Star had played her entire career with the Connecticut Sun after being drafted No. 8 in 2017.

Brittney Griner plans to sign with the Atlanta Dream, a person familiar with the agreement told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made. WNBA free agents can't sign contracts until Feb. 1.

WNBA stars Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier and Brittney Griner will be in action playing Unrivaled women’s basketball Saturday.

Griner joins a Dream team featuring league standouts like Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Tina Charles and Jordin Canada. As for the Mercury, the team reportedly traded for Alyssa Thomas on Wednesday.
