More than a foot of snow is expected to fall on Mount Zirkel, the highest summit in the Park Range of the Rocky Mountains, NWS forecasters said Tuesday.

Temperates could hit 60 degrees in parts of New Jersey on Tuesday, but conditions turn much colder by the weekend.

An Alberta Clipper is a storm system that moves from over the Pacific Ocean to southwest Canada and then southeast into the northern Plains. The storm center often then moves southeast over the Great Lakes region. This will be the case with a storm system on Thursday into Friday.

A cold front had been slowly working through the Chicago area on Monday, so tonight and the rest of the week will trend cooler. This evening will be partly to mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 30s.

Snow is back in the Chicago area forecast this week, with several chances for flurries and colder weather before temperatures bump back up into the 40s as Christmas and Hanukkah approach.
