Google has been pushing back on its ruling as a search monopoly, making its case directly to the Trump administration, arguing that a forced sale of Chrome-one of the Justice Department's most disruptive proposed remedies-poses national security risks,

Among the DOJ's suggestions was that Google be forced to sell off Chrome and be banned from re-entering the browser market for five years. Unsurprisingly, Google didn't much care for this plan, and they're now trying their luck with the Trump administration.

In January, Google was one of several tech giants to donate $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. Now, the company is trying to cash in on the favor. Bloomberg reports that representatives for Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc., urged officials from Donald Trump’s DOJ to keep the company whole at a meeting last week.
