After a surprising win over the Atlanta Falcons, the owners of the Carolina Panthers have seemingly made a decision on the future of quarterback Bryce Young.

He was benched by the Carolina Panthers just two games into the season, which led to trade talks and discourse about him simply just being a bust beyond repair. However, an injury to his replacement, Andy Dalton, allowed Young to get another shot and he hasn't turned back.

Following a couple of uninspiring games, the Panthers at one point this season benched Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton and opted to continue making that decision week-to-week. Young did ultimately return under center (and ended with a bang), but it's safe to say the second-year QB's involvement next year was not yet a foregone conclusion.

"At times this season, according to multiple sources close to the 23-year-old, Young and others who know him well wondered if he had a future with Carolina. There was no indication after the benching he would get another chance to be more than Dalton's backup," Newton wrote. "There was speculation he could be traded after the season."
