Thousands of people fled the Greek island of Santorini by sea and air for a third day on Tuesday, as more earthquakes shook the top travel destination. According to the Greek coastguard, over 5,700 people have left the island by ferry since Sunday.

Emergency services were deployed in readiness and schools were closed after more than 200 temblors struck in the Aegean, near Santorini, within 48 hours.

On the Greek islands of Amorgos and Santorini, approximately 200 seismic tremors were recorded within 48 hours. The most powerful tremor had a magnitude of 4.9. No injuries or damage have been reported.
