After an agonizing wait, Nintendo finally revealed more details on the Switch 2 during a Direct presentation on the morning of April 2nd. While Nintendo told us very little in the official reveal of the console in January, the company announced during the Direct that the Switch 2 would launch on June 5th and cost $449.99.

The original Nintendo Switch's now iconic detachable Joy-Con controllers could have attached to the console magnetically like the Switch 2 Joy-Con 2s, but the idea was shelved during development after late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was presented with a prototype.
