ABC7 (KABC), the ABC affiliate station in Los Angeles, lost its over-the-air signal Friday morning as the Eaton Fire burned near the Mount Wilson observatory and communication towers in the Angeles National Forest.

Flames from the Eaton fire came perilously close to the Mt. Wilson transmitters, and local stations, including KABC, PBS SoCal and radio KLOS-FM, reported losing transmissions.

The Eaton Fire that started in the foothills northeast of Los Angeles flared up Thursday morning near Mount Wilson.
