TURNER, Maine (WGME) -- Three people have been hurt, including a Maine police lieutenant, after a head-on crash in Turner on Monday. According to the Sun Journal, police responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash around 5 p.m. on Turner Center Road.

A Maine police lieutenant was critically injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash Monday afternoon, according to authorities. The Buckfield Fire Department said in a social media post around 4:45 p.m. Monday that the Turner Fire Department responded to two major crashes in different areas of Turner Center Road.

Authorities say the officer was on his way home after his shift and had just picked up his 7-year-old son when the crash happened.
