President-elect Donald Trump’s musings about America controlling Greenland have put this Arctic territory under the spotlight at a time when it’s opening up to tourism. This is what visitors can expect if they make the trip.

Though the president-elect's rhetoric is unusual, for over a century a succession of US presidents have tried to gain control of Greenland.

Greenland Prime Minister Múte Egede said he is “ready” to talk with President-elect Trump, who has recently expressed ambitions for the U.S. to acquire Greenland, the world’s largest island. Egede was asked during a press conference in Copenhagen on Friday if he was in touch with the president-elect.
