Ohio Stadium has played host to numerous different events over its very long history, including numerous matchups between teams from Columbus and Michigan. There will be another one on March 1, but this will be very different from all the others it has hosted.

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will be playing in one of the most iconic football stadiums on March 1, so it’s only fitting their helmets resemble something you’d see on the gridiron. Players practiced Wednesday with the headgear they’ll wear in the Stadium Series game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Ohio Stadium.

The Wings wore the helmets — adorned with their logo on the side, football-style — that they'll wear March 1 for the game at Ohio Stadium against the Columbus Blue Jackets. "Looks really sweet," Moritz Seider said.

The Michigan man thinks the Detroit Red Wings are skating a fine line when it comes to their Stadium Series uniforms. The NHL is trying to go with a football motif for the unis that the Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets will be wearing when they clash outdoors at Ohio Stadium on March 1.
