McDonald's adds more CosMc's locations as part of its first investment in a new concept since ChipotleCosMc's, which was McDonald's (MCD) first investment in a new restaurant concept in the U.S. since Chipotle (CMG), is named after a McDonaldland space alien character who appeared in ads in the 1980s.
Longtime McDonald's fans may remember CosMc, the alien character who appeared in TV and print ads from 1986 to 1992. He was resurrected in 2023 to become the mascot of CosMc's restaurants.
