A man has been arrested in Los Angeles after neighbors said they saw him trying to start a fire with a “propane tank or flamethrower."

Veteran actor Henry Winkler used social media to support his Hollywood friends as wildfires raged through Southern California — and to suggest a theory that an arsonist was behind the carnage.

Despite the catastrophic damage, all-encompassing stress and unhealthy air quality, many neighbors have stepped up to assist one another.

The fires have destroyed more than 1,000 homes and are most are at “ zero containment ,” according to Cal Fire. Recent satellite and aerial imagery reveals the amount of destruction the fast-moving fires have caused in the highly-populated area of Los Angeles county.
