The finale, "Life is a Promise," aired Sunday, Dec. 15, and left many wondering if this was the end to western drama that made its debut in 2018.

It’s been six years since we were introduced to the Duttons, the Montana ranching family at the center of “Yellowstone.” Now, it could all come to an end — sort of. Maybe. The final episode of season 5B of “Yellowstone” is set to air Sunday night.

"Yellowstone" is due to conclude just as soon as it came back, but will the beloved show be gone for good? Fans waited years for Season 5 to continue after it was cut in half, only for series star Kevin Costner to depart the show before filming resumed on the back half of the season.

Earlier this year, it seemed clear Yellowstone was ending this year, with a sequel series called The Madison on its heels. But then the alleged Costner/Sheridan beef hit an alleged apex, and suddenly promo for the show called season 5B a “return” instead of an ending.
