Saturday was National Wreaths Across America Day, where volunteers across the country will remember our country's fallen heroes.

Each year on the third Saturday in December, more than 2 million individuals gather in cemeteries around the country to take part in the Wreaths Across America initiative —

The Iowa Veterans Cemetary joined Wreaths Across America and laid over 5,000 wreaths on veteran’s graves Saturday morning. Wreaths Across America began in 2007 as a way to honor the men and women who serve our country.

At the Louisiana National Cemetery, family members and volunteers gathered Saturday to honor the sacrifices of veterans during the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.
