Lights reboot in development at Universal Television has landed at NBCUniversal’s streamer, Peacock. Variety reports that the once-popular NBC high school sports drama has gone to Peacock after “a highly competitive situation.

It would appear that Peacock is aiming for a touchdown with this new Friday Night Lights show. That’s because, according to Deadline, the drama's original showrunner Jason Katims, original director Peter Berg and the original producer Brian Grazer are all on board to executive produce the project.

Now entering its fifth iteration, (NBC originally tried to serialize the book in 1993 with star Ben Affleck, but Against the Grain only lasted eight episodes), Friday Night Lights broadly follows the travails of a West Texas high school football team and the coaches, teachers, families, and students connected to them.
